The Longshores: Documents and Sources
Document
This is an outstanding work by Mr. David Raese. An in depth analysis of the Longshore Tree. (ver. C. 111008)
I am very happy to provide to our friends and relatives two source documents.  One a genealogical composition written by Mr. David Raese that represents many years of intense research reviewing primary source material.  At this time I am providing a copyright version of this work.  Mr. Raese does encourage you to download and review at your leisure (there is no password, please select "read only" upon opening).  Please direct any questions to our forum.  This 10 Nov 2008 version includes our latest information on the Longshore family.

Also provided by Mr. Raese is a source narrative by Thomas Ellwood Longshore from 1891.

I should warn you about T. E. Longshore's writings from over a century ago.  He was not very P.C.  He took an "absolutist" perspective on issues, and was rather harsh on those that were not in full agreement with his point of view.  He also apparently had a 19th century view toward "eugenics" since then, a completely discredited theory.  He was a member of the temperance movement, and any family member that did not subscribe to that view was apparently labeled a "drunk" by T. E. Longshore.  (I suspect some perhaps actually were - though not very P.C. of him to say so - and perhaps some really were not).  He was rather condescending toward any Longshore family members other than from his own branch, and then even toward some of them.  So, read his writings with that in mind.  Also, his writings do contain the occasional minor errors.  Take his writing with a "pinch-of-salt."
